A report has surfaced tonight that Celtic have been offered Roma boss Paulo Fonseca  should the move for Eddie Howe fall through.  Speaking on The Transfer Window Podcast, Ian McGarry revealed the sensational news, “With Roma parting with their current coach Paulo Fonseca, obviously, a Portuguese legend in terms of his career, he has been offered to both Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur as replacements for Neil Lennon and Jose Mourinho.”

Castles went on to say, “I think, when you see the dimension and difference of the two clubs he’s being offered to here, which would underline that he is having to chase a new job, I’d be very surprised if Tottenham were to take him as manager.

“Fonseca had a decent career as a coach, he was very successful at Shakhtar Donetsk. Produced some good results in the Champions League with them as well. So it’s no surprise to me that the is being offered for two more prominent jobs that are available at the moment. Also I don’t think he’ll be cheap.”

With the Eddie Howe deal seemingly at a crossroads, is this news that Celtic fans would welcome or does it just create more uncertainty and specualtion that the Hoops supporters don’t need at this moment and time?

With no announcement yet, host of The Transfer Window Podcast Ian McGarry left this speculative quote for all Celtic fans to ponder when the two discussed where Fonseca is more likely to end up, “Possibly more likely at Celtic than he is at Tottenham as you say Duncan.”
