Shock as Eddie Howe becomes bookies third favourite for England manager.

|

With the announcement of the next Celtic manager imminent, Howe still remains the favourite to take over the hot seat at Paradise. But an interesting turn of events has occurred over the last twenty four hours where Eddie Howe has become the bookies third favourite to take over the England managers position should Gareth Southgate fail to make a good showing at this summers Euro’s.

Now before anyone starts having a go, of course I am not suggesting that the job is open for debate. Journalist, Mark Guidi, did suggest that the job may come up if Southgate’s England bombs at this summers tournament.

Do you think Eddie Howe will become the Celtic manager?

YES

NO

In fact, as Southgate nears the five year anniversary of taking the job as the manager of the Auld Enemy, some would suggest that maybe it IS time the English F.A. made a change as rarely anyone lasts over the three years mark the as the English national team boss.

The last person to lead the English team for over five years was the enigmatic Sven-Goran Ericksson back on 2001-06.

Southgate has had relative success as the national boss but should he fail at this season’s Euro’s the job could become available and at 7/1, Howe is third favourite behind another man linked to the Hoops position, Sean Dyche (6/1) with the favourite at 5/1, current Aston Villa manager Dean Smith.

So the question is, should the Celtic fans be cheering on England at this summers Euro’s in the hope that Southgate doesn’t get the sack?

Are we really THAT desperate for Howe?
