The rebuilding process at Celtic was always going to be a slow and difficult one.

With the amount of outgoings at the club needing replaced, the transfer window this summer was probably the busiest I’ve seen it as a Celtic supporter.

With fifteen players out the door and only twelve in, personnel wise, we are actually worse off than when we went into the window.

But could the club have helped themselves in that regard?

Could they have solved one problem in midfield if they had managed to secure the services of Scott Brown for just one more year to help with the rebuild?

Journalist, Mark Guidi, thinks so and speaking on Go Radio, he blasts ‘real mismanagement‘ at the club for allowing the legend to leave the club, “Scott Brown should never have been allowed to leave Celtic.

“And now people will say, ‘Scott Brown was the captain during last season, when things were clearly going pear shaped’,  but yeah, he’s been an outstanding captain and leader.

“Purely because of the upheaval and the uncertainty who’s going to manager and the way things are off the park is exactly the reason why when ten new players are coming in that Scott Brown should still be at Celtic.

“Now I ma not saying he is going to be better than Callum McGregor. Callum McGregor has been outstanding.

“Maybe the fact Scott Brown  left has allowed Callum McGregor to grow into the role.

“But when there was that amount of upheaval at the club.

“For me it was real mismanagement that Scott Brown was not secured on a contract, nailed down and still at the club to help with this process where there’s a lot of change has been made.”
