Silly season hits fever pitch after massive name has Celtic job odds slashed

|

Jose Mourinho has had his odds of becoming permanent Celtic manager slashed by Paddy Power, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

We’ve had some ridiculous rumours regarding the Hoops post over the past couple of months but this might be the most outlandish yet.

The paper say that the betting company have reduced the out-of-work manager’s odds from 66/1 to 14/1 this weekend after a flurry of bets on Sunday.

Another big name, Martin O’Neill, has seen his odds drop from 80/1 to 7/1 to replace Neil Lennon as the manager at Celtic Park.

Lennon remains favourite for the post beyond this season, according to the report, having been appointed interim boss in the wake of Brendan Rodgers’ controversial departure.

This speculation is all getting rather silly now and it’s becoming pretty clear to me at least that Lennon is firmly in line to take over.

He’s scouting players, commenting on the upcoming transfer window and perhaps most importantly guiding the club towards more treble success.

His appointment might not win over all Celtic fans, but it seems to be the way the club is heading.
