Skipper Scott Brown is pleased by the summer transfer business so far conducted by Celtic.

“It’s good to have a bit of height in the team – we’ve maybe missed that” – Scott Brown

The SPL champions have added some welcome physical presence by snapping up Portuguese striker Amido Balde and Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk since the end of last season.

“Look at the size of them! It’s good to have a bit of height in the team – we’ve maybe missed that,” Brown told BBC Scotland. “The new lads seem friendly enough, so it’s good to have them in.

“And there’s plenty of games before the first [Champions League] qualifier, so there’s plenty of time for us to get used to the way they play,” he added. “They seem lively enough around the training ground.”
