There’s still plenty of time for Celtic to get new players in but the sooner they do it now the better.

The Bhoys need to strengthen in a few areas across the pitch and surely one of the most glaring weaknesses at the moment remains in defence.

Indeed, at right-back we need to be looking at additions and Tommy Smith was one we wanted to bring in but, instead, he has gone to Stoke City.

Henry Armstrong, meanwhile, has explained just why that was the case and it appears as though it was personal terms that proved the sticking point:

Clearly, the player wanted more money or something like that than we could offer him and that is a shame to see.

Indeed, he could have played in Europe and won trophies next season but instead he has opted for Stoke and it remains to be seen just how he gets on.

This at least explains why this transfer didn’t happen, though, and now it’s for the best that we all move on sharpish.
