During Celtic’s clash with Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday, Steven Naismith was caught on camera kicking out at Hoops winger Jonny Hayes after the Irishman collided with the forward.

With the SFA reviewing the incident after referee John Beaton missed the incident, according to The Daily Record, the deadline to raise further disciplinary action is 3pm this afternoon.

Naismith has previous for being on the end of retrospective action after an incident involving Celtic, receiving a two-match ban in May for a particularly nasty challenge on Scott Brown.

Surely the men in power will rule again that he should receive a ban, given the obvious nature of his petulance at the weekend?

It was a pretty unsavoury incident, especially since he followed it up by screaming in Jonny Hayes’ ear, who by that point was obviously hurt in the collision.

Hearts fans will see it all as a necessary part of competing against the Hoops, their physical game was pretty effective on Saturday after all, but Naismith often goes beyond what is acceptable and the SFA should again let him know he can’t get away with clear unsportsmanlike behaviour.

Do you think Naismith will get a ban for his kick out at Hayes? Let us know in the comments…
