Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has claimed that one of the Hoops misfit stars could be ready for a career turnaround as he is set to stay at Celtic Park.

Speaking on Premier Sports, Sutton claims that French midfielder Olivier N’tcham could become a massive asset for the club but only if he has the guts for the fight, “Ntcham is a player who has had so much talent.

“I can remember him winning man of the match awards against Rangers, big performances in Europe

“His career is on the drift, his career is going downhill. He may be one of those players who suits Celtic this season, who has to stay at Celtic, guts it out and thinks ‘well actually, I’ve got to perform to save my career’ – so he could be a massive asset,”

There is absolutely no question that N’tcham is a quality player. His performances against Rangers and most notably against Lazio in Rome in the Europa League back in 2019 prove he has quality.

But the issue isn’t his his ability, it’s his attitude.

Ever since the famous Ferencvaros press conference, Ntcham has been the shadow of the player he once was.

The slickness of passing and piercing through balls dried up as the moody Frenchman eyed a move away from Glasgow and even when he eventually earned a loan move the Marseille, that deal turned sour pretty quickly as a row ensued over his arrival prompting Andres Villa Boas to resign.

If N’tcham can get his head back in the game and start to perform to the level he is capable of, his move will come. Hopefully Postecoglou can help him realise this and get the best this season out of what is clearly a talented player.
