There’s no reason to pour back over former Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers’ decision to leave the club midseason and make the switch to Premier League side Leicester City and plenty of fans made their feelings clear about his decision to abandon us at the time, but it seems that given the Foxes unexpected start to the 2019/20 campaign, the former Liverpool gaffer has attempted a polite ‘told you so’ moment in the media this week.
Leicester sit in second place in the English top flight table and it’s certainly brought back memories of their remarkable Premier League win a few years back, and speaking to the Daily Record, Rodgers clearly feels that where his new club sits vindicates the recent past.
You can read his words – if you’re interested – on the link above, but in short, their success is all down to the bedding in period he had upon leaving Celtic, and not due to a year that has seen woeful form from the more accepted top six sides in the division who keep dropping points.
It seems the interview hasn’t won him any old friends back.
The ???? can try to re-write history as much as he wants. The bottom line is he left mid season in a crucial run of fixtures and took virtually the whole backroom staff with him. End of.

Yet here we are he’s trying to defend himself when no one up here really cares anymore. Trying to keep himself relevant in the Celtic support the week after a great result in Europe for us!

One day he will look back and realise what a mistake he made leaving at the time he did. If he went in the summer he wld have always been welcomed back as a legend at Celtic Park but I can’t see how the majority of fans will ever welcome him back now

Nope, still a rat!

He believes he did a good job at Celtic, the way he left was a bit snake like and now with 3 big English clubs in turmoil, Leicester are doing well, he'll take the credit for that and when the time is right he'll slither away to his next club. Everyone should understand that.

He's yesterdays man.
We have a better manager now.
Brendan who??— G (@GJS2010) November 12, 2019
Standard Rodgers, tell everybody how right he was and how he knew better, but throw a little compliment out and think everything is ok. He wanted out, wanted more cash, that's the long and short of it. NL has already proved that there was a lot more to get out of this team.

He embarrassed himself with the way he left, but I bear him no ill will. He gave us some amazing memories. I'm glad Neil Lennon is back though, we're playing better football now than we played at any point under Rodgers.

He just doesn't get it at all does he?

And The Better Manager Is...
Neil Lennon
