Speaking to an Ecuadorian outlet – via Football Scotland – Sergio Quintero has discussed the chances of him joining Celtic this summer and it looks as though it could come to a head soon.
The Bhoys have certainly been fairly pedestrian in the transfer market so far with only a few signings being made.
Hopefully, then, Neil Lennon is going to be able to change that sooner rather than later and it appears that Quintero could be the next man to come in.
However, it does also look as though it has to be solved one way or another this week and so come the weekend we’ll know whether we’re getting him or not.
He revealed talks had been going on, and that there was evidently a deadline to things too:
“The representatives of Celtic have been in talks for some time with the president of Imbabura.
“An agreement has to be reached this week if the transfer is to go through.”
I can’t admit to knowing much about the kid but he seems an exciting talent to be playing for his country at the age of 20.
