This will probably be the most tightly contested title in recent seasons. No doubt.

No one gave Celtic any chance of coming close to winning it when Ange Postecoglou took over in mid June and that was mainly down to the size of the job the Hoops gaffer had rather than down to his ability to deliver.

But as Celtic continue to rack up the wins (now unbeaten in 10 domestically) the Hoops certainly seem to have the momentum.

And leading to the transfer window, all the speculation is that Celtic are going to strengthen all the more. And this is why a Celtic fan called Paul, called The Go Radio Football Show to offer his opinion that Celtic are now the title favourites.

Pundit on the show, Barry Ferguson, offered his opinion and, to be fair to Ferguson, it was a very balanced and fair review of how he expects the season to go, “Paul’s obviously entitled to his opinion.

“I think it’s going to go down to the wire. I don’t care what anybody says.

“I think there’s going to be points dropped throughout the season.

“This is not going to be one of these ones where last year Rangers went on and won it with twenty five points, previous seasons Celtic running away with it.

“I think it’s going to get right down to the last couple of games in the season. I still think there will be points dropped because I think it teams the teams this year are stronger.

“You look at Hearts coming up rom the Championship with a great start to the season.

“When Hibs get their act together and play like and did against Rangers last week in the semi final, they’re a decent team as well.

“So there’s a lot of good teams.

“I think both Celtic and Rangers will drop some points going forward.

“And I think as I said it’s going right down the wire. It’s going to maybe even go down to the last game of the season. That’s the way I see it.”

With Celtic tucked just four points behind their rivals, the December month looks like it will be pivotal in the race for the title ahead of the second Glasgow Derby this season.
