Celtic supporters are desperate to see Callum McGregor return to action in midfield, having missed the last four matches due to injury.
The Scotland international has not played for nearly a month but the good news is that he is in line to feature in this weekend’s match away to Dundee, with Neil Lennon offering a hopeful injury update after Saturday’s draw against Aberdeen.
That Aberdeen clash highlighted just how much the team are missing McGregor right now, with the midfield duo of Scott Brown and Nir Bitton simply lacking the creativity and attacking ambition that the Hoops need.
His absence is glaringly obvious and many now consider the 25-year-old to be one of, if not the most, important player in the first-team squad.
Will his return see us make massive improvements in the final third?
That’s what we’re all hoping for when he does get the all clear.
These supporters took to Twitter at the weekend to share their thoughts on his injury and what his return could mean…

Can’t wait for McGregor, Rogic and Christie to get back into midfield! Bitton has done well since coming back but I think the combination of him and Brown seem to suck the life out of each other and the midfield goes into a coma!!

Defo . Well noticed yesterday . Bitton & Brown playing side by side is a bore to watch . Really boring 90 min yesterday . But looking over the whole season , we have had some injuries ( longterm ) but still sit top ????????

This has probably been said a million times today already, but very badly missing Callum McGregor I think.

Missed Callum McGregor today. Aberdeen forced us down both sides and then crowded us out. Didn’t ever really look like we had an answer for it. The more I see of Toljan the more I’m convinced he’s not the answer.

Without Callum McGregor, Celtic really do lack movement and penetration between the lines. His creativity and intelligence on the ball really missing today.

Callum McGregor such a big miss for @celtic. .. Players clearly gutted with that draw. Lennon needs to do a lot better with team selection.
