This summer is going to be a busy one, that is for sure, and Brendan Rodgers will surely be looking to make some ambitious signings.

Being honest, I’m not overly concerned about being dethroned as Kings of Scotland in the near future but that does not mean we can rest on our laurels any time soon.

Indeed, we need to make sure we keep the gap as big as it is now and that brings me on to Paddy McNair.

A player too good to be in League One with Sunderland, he is attracting Premier League interest with Brighton looking now to bid £5m for his services – according to the Northern Echo.

And, for that price, I’d say let’s get after him.

I wouldn’t pay much more, of course, but I think that is a price we can stretch too for a player more than capable of improving our squad.

He’d bring some extra energy and drive between attack and midfield whilst it’s evident that he’s determined to get to the highest level and is approaching his best years.

The Premier League would be tough to turn down, of course, but we have Champions League football and trophies on offer, I think it’s certainly a possibility.

Would you sign him? Let me know!
