The big name manager rumour Celtic fans have been waiting for has arrived

|

Celtic have offered Jose Mourinho a chance to become the club’s permanent manager, according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Sky Sports Italia reporter reckons that the Hoops are in for the former Porto, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Manchester United boss, who is still working on a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain.

It’s a sensational rumour and will likely spark off a chain of reporting that extends for weeks towards the end of the season.

Neil Lennon of course has been given the job until the summer in the wake of Brendan Rodgers’ departure and although he has guided the team towards league success, many fans have been craving reports of another big name with elite experience arriving at Celtic Park.

Jose Mourinho obviously seems like a stretch considering his likely wage and transfer demands, but perhaps having worked at the top level for so long he is looking for a different kind of football challenge.

This is one to watch as reports become fleshed out.
