With all the changes predicted at Celtic with regards to the playing squad and backroom team, journalist Mark Guidi has tipped a shock move in the Parkhead boardroom and has given his tip on who he thinks should lead the club to take them forward.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Guidi and presenter Paul Cooney said changes are coming to the Celtic boardroom when Guidi dropped his bombshell that would get outstanding backing from the Hoops support, “For me a chairman is a role. Very prestigious rule for Celtic. And I think Ian Bankier has held that role for the best part of a decade.

“And before him it was Brian Quinn and John Reid. Guys that I had to deal with journalistically.

“Presence. Powerful men, proper presence. I don’t know if Celtic have got that enough at the moment in the boardroom.

“For me, the Chairman of Celtic should be someone of stature.

“I would bring in Martin O’Neill as the new Celtic chairman. Martin O’Neill has gravitas. He’s highly intelligent. He knows the football club, and he’s a leader.

“And I’m not saying bring him in to oversee Ange Postecoglou, no not at all.

“A prestigious position to lead the football club to give the supporters a, ‘Oh aye! Martin O’Neill? Will  Martin O’Neill get this job?’

“It’s just a thought in my head. That’s somebody that is highly intelligent could do the job as a leader, and knows the football club.”

And Cooney suggested after the conversation that boardroom changes ARE coming to Celtic Park and believes that O’Neill would be the perfect candidate to lead the club through the toughest rebuilding job in their history.

No doubt this appointment would get the seal of approval from the Celtic supporters and could start to heal the rift that is clearly present between the suits in the boardroom and th punters in the stand
