Celtic fans are keen on the club increasing on their initial rejected bid for Hibernian midfielder John McGinn this summer, having been heavily linked with a move for the 23-year-old this week.

As reported by The Daily Mail, the boyhood Hoops fan was the subject of a £1.5m offer on Monday, which was subsequently kicked into touch by the Edinburgh side.

The paper reckons that Hibs are holding out for a fee closer to £5m for the player.

That’s quite the fee for a player who only has a year left on his contract, but given then way the transfer market has inflated in recent years, it’s not the most outlandish of valuations. The likelihood is though that Hibs would compromise on that fee, especially if Celtic throw a player like Scott Allan into the deal.

Supporters are keen on exploring the option though with a massive 84% of respondents to a poll we published earlier this week believing that the Scotland international is worth an increased offer from Celtic.
