The goal was a thing of beauty.
Kyogo’s perfectly weighted pass released Jota on the left-hand side and the Portuguese winger expertly lifted it over the advancing Motherwell keeper who was left in no man’s land.
But as the ball nestled in the back of the net, the Portuguese winger’s muted celebration was telling as the linesman flagged for offside.
Cue the VAR check.
After a three-minute wait the goal was chalked off and we were back to being just one up.
No complaints right?
Maybe not.
This still posted by a Celtic fan on Twitter casts serious doubt over the VAR decision and I’m sure that Ange Postecoglou will not be happy when he sees this photo compared to the one that was shown on Celtic TV tonight:

Now, I’m not a referee or an expert in the rules of offside but I do have eyes and it makes me wonder if a Celtic fan can get a still from his TV to get the call correct, why can’t our officials?
I mean, they do have different angles to look at, don’t they?
If not, then why not and why not use the camera footage that is beamed into our homes to make the decision?
Three games in. Three contentious VAR calls.
Going well, isn’t it?
It’s marginal. Jotas head might just be offside
Time to call it out, for what it is” CHEATING”.Celtic FC.can’t let this criminality carry on.
The cabal of Biased referees needs to be Sacked.
