Leigh Griffiths marked his return to action with a well taken double in Celtic’s academy win over Stenhousemuir at the club’s Lennoxtown training facility as reported in The Daily Record.
Griffiths hasn’t made any first team appearances since August and with Vakoun Issouf Bayo injured, Odsonne Edouard has been relied upon to carry the Hoops attacking threat on his own.
Celtic have a congested fixture list ahead of them and the return to fitness of Griffiths will be music to Neil Lennon’s ears so that he can give Edouard a much needed game or two off.
The striker’s return will also lessen the importance of signing re-enforcements in the January transfer window, a fit and on-form Griffiths remains one of, if not the most deadly goal scorer in the league.
Who is the best finisher?
Odsonne Edouard
Leigh Griffiths
Fans of the Parkhead club took to Twitter to congratulate Griffiths’ on his return and are looking forward to seeing him in first-team action as soon as possible.

Griffiths will have some way to go before he is fully match fit but Lennon must consider a space on the bench for the striker, not just to give him minutes but to protect Edouard and keep him as fresh as possible going into some key fixtures.
