IT’s not the first time my good friend James Forrest has warned of this.

Just last week, when the media were reporting that Celtic’s transfer business was completed for this window, The Celtic Blog warned that the managers words were being taken out of context.

In his article published last week, James warned that Ange did not say he was finished adding to the squad and that the media had misrepresented his words.

And that had turned out to be true.

Just seven days later after the Riley McGree mess, Ange gazumped the Scottish press and pulled another rabbit out the hat in the name of Matt O’Riley.

No one saw it coming. Not even the fan media.

And yet, as we live and breath, it seems that they are making the same mistake. Again.

As Ange addressed the media regarding Kyogo’s recent injury, no sooner had the Celtic gaffer uttered the words “we are still looking at a number of weeks”, the press had their headlines ready to go.

But what James astutely points out is that the manager didn’t officially rule Kyogo out of the match ,”At the moment and at this point are what the manager said. At the moment and at this point along with his talk about getting “some clarity.”

“Things are still up in the air. Celtic itself is reluctant to rush him back.

“Which doesn’t mean Kyogo doesn’t want to play and might not believe that he is fit to play.

“We are 12 days out. Anything can happen.”

Although James does concede that he doesn’t believe Kyogo will play (neither do I at this moment and time) it is worth noting that with The Celtic Blog’s track record of calling out the media spin, it is worth keeping a close eye on this one!

I will move forward under the belief that he’s not going to make it. It would be a real shame at this time given our other new striker is off to Japan on international duties. But we do still have big G available now and it would be good to see his talents.
JF points out the inaccuracy regarding how Ange’s comments are being misinterpreted but there’s no physical fitness update or inaccuracy there.
You never know with Ange, as JF says there’s no definitely not playing comment either, and Kyogo and they mibbies just provide a welcome surprise for us again. 10 days to a fortnight is a long time and if he’s not fit well Ange has had his fun messing with the hun press. HH
