The news broke to a sea of dismay as Celtic announced that CEO Dom McKay resigned/left/got sacked from Paradise.

Just when the club seemed to be getting back on an even keel, the inevitable happened, and has been proved by the board, they always seem to find a way to self destruct.

From the shambles of last season to this, there is really no surprise at last nights events unfolding and one Celtic fan called Clyde 1 Superscoreboard to point the finger squarely at the Celtic board, “I’m no buying it [Celtic’s statement]. I hope I’m wrong and I would love to be proved wrong and if it’s for best personal reasons and the guy get’s his life sorted out and all the rest of it.

“But I’m no buying it.

“So my gut feeling is this guy has come in. He’s revolutionised rugby. He probably wants to eventually revolutionise Celtic. He is probably too ambitious and too progressive.

“It’s probably costing too much money, and I doubt that the board are going to match his ambitions and expectations and he’s went, ‘I’m off‘.

“And I could be totally wrong. I hope I’m totally wrong. But, and the worry is, if they’re not going to match the CEO’s ambitions, they’re certainly not going to match the managers and he might actually go, ‘I’m off’.

“As I say. I hope I’m wrong, but you’ve got to look at the evidence. This is a board over the last however many years, their focus has been the blue pound.

“Peter Lawwell was nearly having heart attacks when that top stand was shut at the Rangers end. And when Rangers died he said, ‘That’s just  cost us 5 million‘.

“They want any Rangers in the league. Any Rangers. It doesn’t matter.”

A damning appraisal of the Parkhead suits and one that every Celtic fan can relate to.

Whatever happens over the next few days, the Celtic board had better pray that Postecoglou doesn’t walk over this because their would be no going back for them.
