The media are already at it. Reports today Giorgios Giakoumakis has rejected a renewed contract offer and will therefore be leaving the club in January. Despite the fact that the Greek striker has a contract until 2026 with plenty of opportunities to go back to the table with an improved offer if the club feel he is worth it.

Look for this to happen more and more, especially in the run up to the Glasgow Derby on January 2nd.  The media have cottoned onto the fact that for the moment Ange is going nowhere.  He has a project that he wants to take forward with Celtic and offers of Premiership clubs he is potentially attracting are not enough to sway him from the potential dynasty he is building at Celtic Park. Realising this, the media have now moved on to attempting to disrupt our team by suggesting unrest and players like Juranovic and Giakoumakis wanting away.

Firstly, if these players do want to leave they will leave for a bigger profit than they were bought for, that is how this club works, we make players better and sell them on for a profit. Secondly, our boss Ange Postecoglou has made it clear that he wont stand in anyones way if they don’t want to be at our club. Replacements are already identified in all areas of the park, proof of that is the apparent second signing of the window in Canadian international Alistair Johnston arriving to potentially replace Juranovic.

It is the media who will try to unsettle our squad, but it wont work, this team is a close-knit bunch who won’t listen to the empty wailing of the Scottish hacks.

  • John McNulty says:

We were looking for a striker after both Kyogo and Giako didn’t look convincing in the champions league. If I had to choose one to keep and one to sell then I would be keeping Kyogo.
