A frustrating night in the end for the Bhoys in green and white as we drew with Motherwell at Fir Park in the league.
It was our first outing back in the Ladbrokes Premiership after our cup exploits at the weekend and despite Rodgers ringing the changes we still looked pretty lethargic.
A number of fringe players got their chance to try and prove a point but few actually delivered and it was a former peripheral figure that set the example.
Not so long ago Ryan Christie would have been pondering his future but he has gradually become a key man for us in recent weeks.
Last night, then, he was again a shining light on a pretty dismal night as he opened the scoring for the Bhoys.
Certainly, he is an example to those warming the bench right now and many have reflected that feeling in their discussion on Twitter:
Ryan Christie is an example to those fringe players who got there chance last night and failed miserably. That boy got a chance and took it by the scruff of the neck and hasn’t looked back.

Not the result we were looking for last night but great to see Ryan Christie on the scoresheet again from a great assist from Tierney.. pic.twitter.com/nCQedite7Y

Another goal for Ryan Christie who continues to impress, Motherwell are known for their robust approach & he stood up to it well pic.twitter.com/R38qNmOWrv

Weres the hunger from the fringe players coming in last night. A hunger that seen ryan Christie cement his place as a 1st team starter every week, not seeing that with the guys brought in last night. Need to be ruthless now, coming to jan I’d ship a good few out the door.

Opportunity lost by Celtic to go back top but still with a game in hand on Rangers and two on Kilmarnock so I don’t think it will worth them too much at this stage. Excellent to see Ryan Christie’s good form continue #ScottishFitbaw
