Earlier today, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers explained that striker Leigh Griffiths was set for a deliberate spell on the sidelines as he deals with some issues outside of the game.
Having missed training on Wednesday and subsequently been ruled out of Thursday’s Europa League affair against Salzburg, his appearance last weekend against Kilmarnock will be his last for a while as the 28-year-old gets himself sorted.
To save overly repeating myself I covered the initial news here with Rodgers’ words:
Celtic Man Takes A Break For ‘Ongoing Personal Reasons” & That’s All Most Fans Need To Know
A statement on the Official Site confirmed that Griffiths would be given all the ‘professional help’ he needed and that he had the support of everyone inside of the club as he deals with his struggles.
Fans are no different on that front, and avoiding the speculation that has now surfaced in the media – I think the specifics are irrelevant here – clearly Griffiths is going to get good support from within the fanbase as well and plenty were quick to take to social media to send their wishes.
Take care @Leighgriff09 and take the time you need to get yourself okay – you will get there and we'll be waiting to welcome our super Leigh back to the fold ????????????????????????
