Celtic fans are excited about the Kristoffer Ajer and Jozo Simunovic central defensive partnership after they kept another clean sheet at home to Kilmarnock on Saturday.
An ambitious Killie side really took the game to the Hoops throughout yesterday’s 90 minutes, with the duo called into action on a number of occasions.
Both were again given the responsibility of carrying the ball out of defence too, with Simunovic providing a key goal threat at the other end, eventually netting a towering header that will go down in Hoops folklore as a well-timed Billy McNeill tribute.
Much has been made of Celtic’s problems in front of goal under Neil Lennon but our defensive form has been excellent. We’ve kept eight clean sheets of his ten matches so far, conceding just two goals in total. It’s a magnificent record, with Ajer and Simunovic playing a big role in it.
Many now think it could be a viable partnership heading into next season…
If we can get adequate reinforcements for Ajer And Simonuvic we will be in decent shape in central defence next season.
These two look outstanding these days!!

IMO the most important thing about the centre of defence is the partnership. Jozo and Ajer might have something going. Both were titans today ????

Big Jozo has come on to some game since hes been back in the team. Ajer as well to be fair

The partnership of Jozo and Ajer has taken a bit of pressure off our shoulders heading into the summer.
We still need two first-team defenders (priority) but that duo have improved, have confidence & know how to play together.
One of the big successes since Rodgers fecked off.
