I was in two minds about whether or not to write this post but I think, on reflection, that it is only fair that the regular readers of Vital Celtic are kept in the loop as to the future of the site.
I have been immensely proud to have been the Editor of Vital Celtic.
An adventure that began as a writer on my own personal blog, I was recommended by my good friend James Forrest [The Celtic Blog] to Snack Media to take over Vital Celtic in what I thought would be something simply to do in my spare time.
And thanks to you guys, the site grew from zero pageviews to an all-time high of 1.2m in August of 2021.
But where this site really took off was during the COVID pandemic.
As a high risk, I was forced to isolate and it was then I decided to fill in those empty hours by seeking out and finding any Celtic content I could get my hands on.
The response from the readers was such that I was able to quit my full-time job and cover Celtic as my job.
It hasn’t always been plane sailing. My wife has had to be extremely patient with me around the house 24/7 listening to every podcast available that mentioned Celtic!!!
And credit to her, she was extremely supportive of the career change I made and for that, I will forever be grateful.
As the site grew, I was invited to a guest appearance on A Celtic State of Mind just before Christmas last year to help with their brilliant Charity Weekender and as such, I am now a regular on their Wednesday afternoon bulletin.
I am also grateful to Martin Crawford and James Jones for giving me the opportunity to take on Vital Celtic and take charge of the whole Vital Network where I met a talented bunch of writers whom I now regard as friends.
Now it is on to the next chapter.
67 Hail Hail beckons and I am absolutely buzzing to get started on the 27th of March with John McGinley and Hamish Carton.
To everyone that continued to take time out of their day to read my content, I will forever be thankful. It really is humbling to know that people found content that I have written worthy of five minutes of their time.
But for now, I’ll leave you with one of the words of the world’s greatest players:
“We know Celtic have a special group of fans…”
Messi [Barcelona] (Nov 2012)

I have to say I am really sorry that you are closing down Vital Celtic.I found you after a recommendation from James Forrest/ The Celtic Blog. There is so much junk out there pretending to be Celtic bloggers who do nothing but copy original materials sussed out by people like yourself and James.Nevertheless I am glad that you are going to another one of my favorite sites 67 Hail Hail.I look forward to seeing you on 67

Your doing a great job, keep it up HH
Thank you Jim! Very kind of you! HH
All the best Paddy in your new venture with 67 Hail Hail and I know Hamish and John will make you feel welcome as will people like myself who follow their channel regularly. I came to Vital Celtic late as a subscriber it was mid 2021 when I subscribed, the content you’ve put out since I joined is first class and it was because of James that I ventured on to your site and I’ve never regretted subscribing. I subscribe to ACSOM as well and I always enjoy listening to your viewpoint as it’s always balanced and well thought out and you’re not afraid to call the club out if needs be too but in the last couple of years there’s not a lot to complain about. You know what they say mate you always have to look to the next challenge and you’ll certainly get that at 67 Hail, Hail, good luck and God bless mate youyou’smash it HH
Thank you for those kinds words Tommy! HH
Thank you for your contributions and the best of luck in your new post.
Thanks mate! Much appreciated!
