A goalscoring drought for a striker must cause sleepless nights, it must be for top strikers, how most of us feel getting our gas bill in, continual dread the longer you wait for it.

At Celtic we have two top-quality strikers, one of which is head and shoulders the best striker in the land.

While the Japanese sensation bagged his first goal of the season yesterday, Kyogo in all honesty hasn’t looked his sharpest in the very early goings of this season, but I don’t expect that to last too long, and neither, I’m sure, does his manager.

The frightening thing about this Celtic team is that if we have a striker with a bit of a goal drought, it really doesn’t matter, there are goals all over the pitch in this team.

It must be an opposing manager’s absolute nightmare trying to create a defensive tactic to cover all our threats.

It is near impossible. So if Kyogo or Giakoumakis have a dip in front of goal, Maeda, Abada, Jota, Turnbull, O’Riley, Hatate, and Forrest are all there. Now even the centre backs are getting in on the action.

The goal threat this team poses is truly stunning, with 5 goals in the first two games, and I don’t think we are even remotely as clinical as we will be once the season gets rolling.

Good luck to the opposition, they are going to need it!
