There has been many claims made about Celtic and their new boss Ange Postecoglou since he walked into Parkhead this year.

From being the biggest rebuild ever to face a Celtic manager to the biggest board managed disaster that was last season under this current set of Parkhead powerbrokers.

But this claim from ex Celtic striker, John Hartson, is incredible if somewhat unbelievable.

Hartson gave his opinion on Go Radio on how he would regard this season’s title win, should Celtic manage to topple Rangers, and it was a huge claim, “With Celtic on the up and if Ange was to go on and win the league this year at Celtic it would be the biggest league win, I think, of all time.

“When you think of where Celtic about to come from. Changing the manager. No Director of Football. No Head of Recruitment. He’s is almost picking the players himself.

“And he’s almost had to build a new team, right from the goalkeeper all the way up to a centre forward. It can be done. I think there’s a bit more investment can come into Celtic.

“I think that they’re gonna bring in another three, four,  possibly five players before now and the end of August.

“And they’re going to be even stronger again. I said at the start of the season it was Rangers is title to lose.  I still believe that on the strength of how well they did last season.

“But things can change very very quickly and football as we know.”

Of all time. Bigger than the first nine in a row? Bigger than stopping the ten? Bigger than the second nine a row? I think Hartson is a bit off key here but he does make an interesting point about investment.

If Celtic do manage to bring in three to five players as Hartson predicts, with the style of football Ange plays and how he is getting it out of the current crop of players, I am going to stick my neck on the line and say although I don’t believe that this league win would be the biggest of all time, the football will be better than the Tommy Burns era.

Yes. I know. We are in for a treat this season.
