Celtic’s U20s side are celebrating a Glasgow Cup final win over rivals Rangers tonight after a thrilling 3-2 encounter.

After last week’s Scottish Youth Cup final disappointment, the young Hoops had a chance to earn a bit of silverware at a slightly higher age group, with a number of players on the fringes of the first-team squad getting the opportunity to shine at Celtic Park.

A last minute Robbie Deas effort secure the victory after two first-half goals from Jack Aitchison and Mikey Johnston.

Johnston in particular impressed during his time on the pitch, curling in a beauty of a free-kick that had social media abuzz.

The attacker has had his fair share of first-team action this season, making 20 appearances in total. However, he’s not been able to quite transition effectively enough to be relied upon in a treble-chasing side.

What’s clear though is he is too good for youth level and if he isn’t going to get minutes in the senior side next term then he should be sent out on loan.

Still just 19 years old, he has plenty of time to improve.

Fans remain excited about his ability, taking to Twitter tonight to share their thoughts on his Tuesday display…
