Celtic’s competitive season kicked off last night as the Bhoys travelled to Bosnia to take on FK Sarajevo in the Champions League qualifier.
The Hoops have already played some football this year in the shape of friendlies but this was where things got real for the first time.
Indeed, sometimes this stage of the season can mean these games provide a banana skin but the Bhoys did well to overcome things – and going behind early – to end up winning 3-1.
A performance that should allow us to progress after the second leg at Paradise, then, and Mikey Johnston was one man that impressed.
He scored a lovely goal and did well with his work in the final third, often causing the opposition problems.
Indeed, he was the real spark and it was a shame to see him come off with an injury which, hopefully, won’t be too bad.
Fans are excited about him, though, so let’s see what was said about him on Twitter last night:
That’s a wonderful strike from Mikey Johnston #CelticFC
