Celtic have been linked with lots of names this summer but the fact is the window has been a pretty slow-burning one so far and we need to try and change that.

Panic needn’t set in at the moment but it is clear that the Bhoys will want to get some signings in before too long.

That in mind, then, the latest twist involving Luca Connell over the weekend might well decrease our chances of getting him.

As per the Bolton News, the Bhoys had made a bid to get him in for a minimal fee to just offer compensation but he has signed an extension with the Trotters for another season.

That means we will have to now pay more than we would have done to try and get him in and it remains to be seen just how much we want to get him in.

He’s certainly an exciting young player and would have been a bargain for a compensation fee but now it’s going to take extra money surely.

It perhaps decreases our chances of getting him, then, and that is a concern.
