Transfer update leaves Celtic’s hopes of signing 26-y/o in tatters

|

Celtic want to be signing players soon this summer now with pre-season training not exactly that far away.

The fixtures get released a week today and from then preparations are really going to pick up with Champions League qualification also on the horizon.

Neil Lennon needs to be getting his squad ship-shape, then, but it looks as though Liam Moore will not be joining the club thanks to his apparent cost.

Former Reading Chronicle journalist Courtney Friday offered this update on Twitter yesterday:

The 26-year-old centre defender would have probably been a good signing for us but, as often seems the case, the English market is making it hard for us to make any movements.

We’ll have to move on quickly from Moore, then, and target other players in his position with us short in that area at the moment.

With Filip Benkovic’s loan ending and Dedryck Boyata leaving too, it’s a position that needs work.
