Celtic will face Aberdeen at Hampden in the Scottish Cup semi-finals after securing their 34th consecutive domestic cup victory and put behind them the pain of their shock Europa League exit.
Ryan Christie scored the only goal of the game against St Johnstone with less than ten minutes on the clock as his beautifully flighted free-kick evaded everyone with Christopher Jullien the closest to getting a touch before it hit the back of the net.
The Parkhead club will obviously be heavy favourites going into the semi-finals with none of the other participants enjoying particularly stellar seasons and one noticeable absence the cause of much hilarity amongst Hoops fans as they look forward to securing an unprecedented fourth consecutive treble.
Celtic fans took to Twitter after the draw was made, not quite counting their chickens but certainly getting the calculator out in preparation and taking the opportunity to put the boot into their not so “noisy neighbours”.

Not surprised. Got to play the best teams to win it and it was all the best teams that were in the draw 😀

With Neil Lennon’s side showing no signs of slipping up anytime soon, few – even of a blue persuasion – would back against them achieving what would have seen impossible five years ago, a fourth consecutive treble and continuance of their domestic dominance.
