According to trusted journalist Ekrem Konur, Celtic have started to hold contract talks with in form Hoops right back, Anthony Ralston.

Ralston has been in brilliant form for the Parkhead side this season and has taken to Hoops boss, Ange Postecoglou’s new style like a duck to water.

At still only 22 years old, Ralston has his best years ahead of him but he did look like he was on his way out of Celtic Park this season as his contract was running down.

After signing a year long extension, Ralston has become a different player under Ange Postecoglou and has excited the fans with his dynamic running and link up play with Liel Abada down the right hand flank.

Although not the finished article yet, his form this season has brought calls for him to called up to the Scottish national side but with Steve Clarke, rather amusingly, preferring Nathan Patterson ahead of Ralston, it looks like the bulky right back will need to wait for his chance.

Ralston has featured eighteen times under Ange this season and has contributed eighteen goals to the cause.

But it is his no nonsense style of defending that has made the Celtic fans take him to their heart.

His defensive displays in Europe and domestically have been excellent and while he seems to struggle the further he gets up the field, this is something I am sure, Postecoglou can work with to make him the finished article.

This is great news ahead of Celtic’s current links in the transfer market and the Hoops fans will be buoyed that the team seems to be settling down ahead of a busy winter schedule.
