As Celtic make preparations for life without Odsonne Edouard, the Hoops have been linked with a sensational move for Gabonese international Aaron Boupendza.

With Edouard looking more likely to get his move from Paradise, Celtic will need to bolster their forward line as the evidence of pre season has shown that Albian Ajeti is not up to the task and with the ongoing issues regarding Leigh Griffiths, Celtic will be light up top for the season ahead.

Turkish media outlet Fanatik have reported that Hatayspor and Gabon international Aaron Boupendza is on the radar of the Hoops and they have tipped the forward man for a summer move.

Boupendza signed for Hatayspor for free last August and after a sensational season,  his 22 goals helped his club to a sixth place finish, just four points off a European place.

The report says Celtic face stiff competition from some of Europe’s top  guns as Atalanta, Fiorentina and Lyon are all said to be circling above the hitman and he also seems to be attracting interest from English Premier League outfit, Watford.

As Ange Postecoglou picks over the bones of last nights 1-1 draw with Midtjylland, many fans will feel that the defence and goalkeeper should be the priority areas the gaffer should be focusing on but with good strikers difficult to come by, Boupendza may be the ideal fit for the Hoops.

With Celtic’s Champions League hopes hanging in the balance, the fans will be hoping that Odsonne Edouard will give a perfect parting gift of a few net busters to help the Parkhead club progress to the group stages.
