Twist in transfer race could enhance Celtic’s chances of keeping ace

|

According to L’Equipe – via French Football News – FFP regulations could see Marseille priced out of a move for Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham.

The report claims that the French side are well over the allowed deficit they have been set this summer and that they need to sell players to avoid punishment in the coming weeks.

That would suggest, then, that unless there is a large clearout at the south of France side, Ntcham will not be heading there anytime soon.

It’s a twist in this tale, then.

The midfielder has been linked away from Celtic Park this summer with the Scottish Sun reporting earlier this month that Ntcham was wanted by Marseille, Lyon and FC Porto.

It could be that the former side can now not afford to bring him in, however, and so it remains to be seen whether Lyon and Porto increase efforts with this in mind.

Ntcham for now, though, remains a Celtic player and such a story will perhaps increase our chances of keeping him if there is one less party interested in him.
