Celtic’s victory up at Aberdeen was well deserved. Well fought out and when the team had to dig deep, they found that something extra that has been missing from our away performances for the bet part of a calendar year.

Yes, the football and defending at times, wasn’t pretty, but getting the three points was all that mattered as we head into the second international break this season.

Most of the talk was about Kyogo’s cheeky chest finish to open the scoring at Pittodrie but that wasn’t what impressed former Celtic midfielder Charlie Mulgrew.

Speaking on the post match analysis on Sky Sports, Mulgrew was raving about the assist from young Hoops midfielder, David Turnbull.

Turnbull has been suffering from some inconsistent form for the Hoops this season so far but there was one thing he done that made Mulgrew sing his praises, “It was a great ball in the box. They [Aberdeen] don’t get organised in the box quick enough for the throw in.

“It’s an unbelievable cross there. That’s unbelievable.

“The technique there. The balls just had a wee bit of a bounce and he’s caught it perfectly.

“As I said before the game, if Celtic cut through you with unbelievable play then that’s fair enough because they’ve got the players that can do that.

“But crossed balls against Celtic, you look to try and make them cross the balls to defend it as they don’t have big strikers.

“But as we talked about today, that’s an unbelievable ball but Aberdeen will be disappointed they didn’t get something on it just to clear it.”

The Celtic fans will be hoping that Turnbull will take confidence from his assist on Sunday and use it to kick on to recapture the form that made the Hoops fans rave about him.
