Celtic supporters appear to be eager for Leigh Griffiths to start tonight’s match away to Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership.

Returning to first-team action against Motherwell two Sundays ago, the striker went on to make a substitute’s appearance against Rosenborg last Thursday.

Brendan Rodgers chose not to utilise him from the bench on Sunday though, with injuries and fitness forcing the manager into needed switches.

He is now well placed to be trusted from the start at Fir Park tonight, with Odsonne Edouard looking visibly tired in the latter stages of the League Cup final.

The Frenchman has played a lot of football this season and with a Kilmarnock test to come this week, the manager can probably afford to unleash Griffiths against the Steelmen without a dip in the team’s likelihood of winning.

Supporters are certainly in favour, with a massive 97% of respondents to a poll we published earlier this week believing that Griffiths should play.
