We’re just hours away from the beginning of Celtic’s 2018/19 season, with the team currently going through their final preparations in Armenia for the clash with Alashkert in UEFA Champions League qualifying.
It’s a massive night and plenty of fans are hoping to see Brendan Rodgers make one big selection call for the encounter – playing Odsonne Edouard and Moussa Dembele together.
It’s not a combination we’ve seen a lot of over the last 12 months, but the manager utilised both in the recent friendly thrashing of Shamrock Rovers, hinting that this could be a selection policy going forward.
Both were on the score sheet in the 7-0 win and looked like a fearsome duo against the Irish side, Edouard in particular looking as sharp as he ever has in a Celtic shirt.
There’s been plenty of speculation that this summer could be the one that sees Dembele’s departure from the club, but hopefully he can stick around for at least one more year and play regularly with his compatriot over the coming season.
In the short-term at least it looks like they will play together and we won’t be surprised in the slightest to see them both in the starting eleven this evening.

It’s only pre season so don’t want to get carried away but Sinclairs looking sharp and it’s great to see, if he plays the way he should this season he’ll be like a new signing, dembele an edouard upfront is unstoppable aswell, this is in general not just today’s game!
