Update on future of key man disclosed in potential boost to Celtic

|

Celtic earned an important first competitive win of the season earlier this week against FK Sarajevo and that gives us plenty to build upon in the coming weeks.

Certainly, we’re not at full-pace or full-strength at the moment but winning games in light of that always bodes well.

One man we were without, of course, was Kieran Tierney with him still working his way back to fitness after surgery but, as well as that, there have been rumours about his future this summer too.

However, in a potential boost to our hopes about him staying, Neil Lennon has revealed that there is little to add right now and that things are very much ‘as you were.’

Quoted by the Scottish Sun, he had this to say about the Scottish international:

“I have taken no notice of the headlines – I am well aware of where we are in terms of the situation. I spoke to Kieran in Austria and to be honest I haven’t really seen much of him because he came back early for rehab, so he hasn’t been on the training ground as yet.

“It can be an unsettling period for any player and that is understandable. But until a club comes up with any sort of realistic valuation of the player we don’t have to do anything and we won’t.

“It’s as you were. Kieran is getting on with his rehabilitation and we are getting on with what we have to do here.”

Of course, until the deadline passes and he is still a Hoop we will have concern but for the moment little seems to be happening and that is a good sign.
