As the news broke today of Celtic apparently targeting Brazilian 20 year old, Fernando Henrique, Vital Celtic looked to see if we could get a measure of the player that was announced to the Celtic world this morning as a top target for Ange Postecoglou.

Brazilian media site, Globo.com revealed that the Glasgow side had made contact with Gremio in a bid to bring the youngster to Paradise in January.

The site revealed, “The midfielder’s name is debated in Celtic’s analysis area as one of the possible targets for next season.

“Fernando Henrique’s stake was sought for information on the possibility of a negotiation in January and the values desired by the Tricolor.”

However, the Hoops do face competition from The City Group, ironically where ex Celtic Gary Caldwell looks after loan signings, and from Arab side  Al Ain.

Both are reported to have been quoted $5m U.S. (£3.6m) to secure the services of Henrique last month and it is unsure whether or not they, or Celtic would be willing to match their valuation.

Video footage emerged on YouTube of the midfielder and, yes, I know video footage could be collaborated to make anyone look good, but this young man can play.

Spraying 30-40 yard passes with pinpoint accuracy. Vision and flair and is not scared to do the dirty work in the centre of the park by breaking up play. This kid looks the real deal.

Still unconvinced?

Watch out for his piledriver from the edge of the area.

If Celtic are successful in capturing this young man, he could become a real player in Ange Postecoglou’s system.
