Celtic were knocked out of the Europa League after Zenit St Petersburg turned around a narrow deficit from the first-leg at the Krestovsky Stadium.
The hosts drew level in the tie when Branislav Ivanovic headed in an early corner delivered by Leanardo Parades.
With the half-hour mark approaching, Daler Kuzyaev’s effort then deceived goalkeeper Dorus De Vries to earn them an overall lead.
Aleksandr Kokorin was later to take advantage of Ivanovic’s cross as his side confirmed their superiority on the night.
