Waiting game for Celtic could allow them to snap up cut-price deal

|

The Sunday Times – via the Scottish Sun – has reported that Celtic remain keen on Timothy Castagne and he could be available this summer.

The Scottish Sun reported earlier in the January window that Brendan Rodgers was a fan of him as we looked to find a replacement for Mikael Lustig.

Eventually, though, it was Jeremy Toljan that came into takeover, but he is only on loan and so another signing might need to be made.

Castagne remains on the radar, then, and Celtic playing the waiting game could be about to pay off as it is thought Atalanta might be willing to accept a lower offer than otherwise thanks to him entering the last year of his contract.

He’ll have one more season on it come the summer and if the Serie A club is realising that they cannot keep him then it would be best to get him sold.

Celtic could profit nicely here.
