I’m becoming self-conscious that some of my articles are becoming a bit of a love letter to our boss, Ange Postecoglu.
This one is going to be no different. Every time I see a game or listen to him speak to the press, I become more and more impressed and grateful that Eddie Howe never took up the Celtic job.
This past weekend was no different, in his post-match interview with Celtic TV, Ange discussed how he was using the one fixture a week current period to ensure that all of his players were fully fit and firing on all cylinders before the fixture list intensifies.
As I listened to this it struck me how much more organised, prepared and quite frankly professional we are now as a club as opposed to the previous regime.
This is a manager who knows how to keep his squad going for a whole season, based on statistical analysis, training data and form.
This isn’t a manager obsessed with getting the next three points. He sees the bigger picture, picking players on form and fitness as opposed to who he is friends with.
From this time last season when the pundits were already packing his bags, Ange has shown what a formidable and shrewd operator he really is.
This man is going to take us a very long way. Hold onto your seats, it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
