Celtic produced a statement of intent with their 5-0 Champions League victory against Astana, according to winger Scott Sinclair.

The 28-year-old former Aston Villa forward struck twice during the midweek first-leg tie at Celtic Park, although he reckons their success was never easy despite the convincing scoreline.

“I wouldn’t say it was easy, I think we made it look easy,” Sinclair told BBC Scotland. “I think every game is so hard and, just the way we played tonight, it probably looked like it was easy.

“It was a great night. The boys did unbelievable,” he added. “We’ve come such a long way. The team’s gelled very well. The gaffer’s brought in a couple of new players and I think we’ll be ready.”
