Whether today’s transfer speculation is true or not, it seems that Ange Postecoglou is working hard behind the scenes to get his transfer business completed early.

As the Hoops continue to be linked with players from the Japanese J League, the Celtic fans will be hopeful that at least three or four new faces will join the club this January as the squads injury crisis continues.

With Jota, Anthony Ralston and Stephen Welsh all on the injury list, James Forrest was also a casualty at the weekend which means the squad is running thin as we go into the hectic festive schedule.

Celtic fans know it won’t be the lack of quality that could cost them the league this season.

It’s lack of squad depth and speaking on BBC Sportsound, Ange Postecoglou addressed that as he gave a little glimpse of his plans over the January window, “The update is a consistent update.

“We’ll hopefully  have the players we want in early in the transfer window.

“That’s what we’re working towards. Nothing’s done yet. Nothing’s concluded.

“We’ll keep working really hard off the field to be well organised. Myself, Michael, all the key people involved in this working on a daily basis to make sure that come January we get what we need.”

If the speculation today is to be believed the Hoops fans fear will be allayed somewhat with the thought of at least three players joining the squad in January which could give them a shot in the arm in the race for the title.
