With Celtic’s rebuilding job now under way, Ange Postecoglou has never made any secret of the fact that he aims to raid the Japanese J League to help find the players that will help bring silverware to Paradise.

With the Hoops requiring one or two first team ready additions, the manager should also be looking to help build the strength of the bench to give him better options to bring on if the team are struggling to break down sides.

With the Europa League showing the dearth of quality in the squad required to make ‘Angeball’ a success, the Celtic gaffer really has a job on his hands to build the calibre of player in his squad.

But the good news for the Hoops fans is that the big Aussie gaffer is on the ball.

As reported by HITC, Ange has already identified targets and amazingly revealed that contact has already been made with clubs to secure his targets more efficiently to bolster the squad for the second half of the season, “Yeah, that’s one of the markets [Japan] we will be looking at,”

“Obviously I know it well and they will get to the end of their season which is a good time if there’s anyone who will fit into our set-up.”

“We will be looking everywhere.

“The last window was frantic.

“This time we want to make sure that we are planning well in advance.

“We have already identified targets and begun discussions before we get to January so that we can conclude deals a lot quicker than we did in the previous window.”

What a difference this would make.

For too long now Celtic have dragged their heels in the transfer window and played catch up which more often than not led to panic signings that made no impact on the squad at all.

Anyone remember Freddie Ljundberg?
