Celtic are on the brink of qualification for the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League after a professional win away to Rosenborg on Thursday night.
Brendan Rodgers’ men knew they needed three points to give themselves a chance of securing European football after Christmas and delivered with a 1-0 victory.
After Leipzig lost against Salzburg in the other Group B match, we are now just a single home draw away from the last 32 of the competition.
Much of the credit must go to Celtic’s midfield for an energetic and efficient performance that allowed us to dominate the 90 minutes against the Norwegian champions.
Players like Ryan Christie proved once again that there’s plenty to be excited about in the middle of the park moving forward.
Christie’s emergence into a crucial Celtic star has been one of the biggest surprises of the season so far but fans simply can’t get enough of him right now.
These supporters took to Twitter last night to share their thoughts on his Thursday display…

Must be the first time I can remember an away match in Europe where we haven’t even had a save to make in the first half!!? Playing really well…what a difference Ryan Christie makes to us….

Brilliant professional first half display by Celtic, let’s get this sorted and out of reach quickly. Fantastic from James Forrest and Sinclair. Christie is beautiful!!

Tierney, McGregor, Christie and Forrest have all been absolutely superb both domestically and on the European stage for Celtic .
Some would lead you to believe their is no talent in Scottish footballers ????

Utter fucking class Celtic. Win away and we look like we’re getting better and better. The turnaround in Christie and the whole team since killie away is inspiring for the rest of the season

Celtic very dominant in that first half, surprisingly so for an away game in Europe. Christie in the same team as Rogic is great to watch.
