Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts has returned to Celtic on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old already had a very successful eighteen months in a similar arrangement with the champions and rejected approaches from both Nice and Southampton in order to rejoin them.

He scored seventeen goals in 60 games during his earlier spell while helping the Hoops towards four trophies.

“All the support and love I have been getting has been brilliant,” Roberts told Celtic TV, reports Celtic’s official website. “I love it here and to be back is great and I’m thankful to be finally here.

“We had a good end to the season, which obviously helped, and playing for these great fans was also a factor coming back,” he added. “It’s great to be back and I can’t wait to get going again.”
