With Celtic set to face Bayer Leverkusen tonight in the second Europa League group match tonight, the Hoops are without a raft of key first team players in what makes an already difficult task almost impossible.

With the international squads being named for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, mystery still surrounds whether or not Kyogo Furuhashi has, in fact, been included in the Japanese squad.

Ange Postecoglou says he is, the announced Japanese squad doesn’t. Quite a situation.

But upon hearing the news, Go Radio and former Rangers midfielder, Barry Ferguson, couldn’t believe what he was hearing when the manager said Furuhashi would be joining up with his Japanese compatriots, “Yeah, I am surprised. I think he’s going to be involved in the squad.

“Tomorrow night, or if not tomorrow, Sunday .

“He’s too big a player to risk for me.

“And listen, that’s something that the manager will make that decision

“He wants Kyogo to have game time.

“And for me, you run the risk with all the travel. You’re going on international duty.

“He’s not doing the training that Postecoglou will do. I think it’s a risk.”

With Kyogo first reported to have an expected return date from injury not until after the international break, the Hoops fans will be hoping they will see a glimpse of their idol either tonight or Sunday, albeit it off the bench.

What they wont want to see is Kyogo being rushed back only to see him return to the treatment table and they also won’t want to see a repeat of another international injury.
