The performance was flawless. Of that there is no doubt.

Well, if you are going to be super critical, and I mean SUPER critical, you could say Kyogo was disappointed to not score five yesterday, but we’ll just need to settle for a home debut hat trick.

Standards eh?

And clearly standards is what Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is all about.

Everyone remembers the first training session video of Ange mic’d up. The famous “We don’t stop until the we celebrate. We don’t stop.”? Didn’t we just get a glimpse of that yesterday now!

Speaking to Sky Sports after the 6-0 mauling of Dundee yesterday, Ange was asked about a blip between wantaway Odsonne Edouard and Liel Abada as the two had a little tête-à-tête over who was to take the penalty, and Ange’s reply was simple, but brilliant, “Oh you find one? You done well to find a blip today!

“It’s fine. Liel, he’s another one, he’s only 19.  He’s adjusted really well and I think he was just keen to get a goal tonight.

“But Odsonne being the elder statesman, in life, sometimes you got to defer to that, and Liel did today.

“But no dramas I mean he earned the penalty, it is a great run in behind and he gave me another great game.”

The reply was all in good nature and in good fun but it does show you that after a home debut from the manager where the team keep a clean sheet, a home debut hat trick from Kyogo AND a home debut assist from Abada, the media still want to highlight a problem that wasn’t there.

It was a good natured quip today, but I bet it won’t be if the next time if that line of questioning continues.
